Bats invade the attic of the Phipps' home, and one even bites Edna Phipps. Bill and Stumpy go to evict the bats and discover the bats are sick with rabies! The boys get help fighting off the bats from some feathered friends. One of the Phipps' neighbors causes Bill even more trouble than those pesky bats.

Holly the Golden Mole visits with Uncle Bob Devine today. Namibia in southern Africa is home to Holly. She lives under the sands of the Namibian Desert. She "swims" through and under those sands almost like swimming through water. Many other small creatures live in those sands and are food for Holly.

RB111 The Prehistoric Monster
The circus has arrived at Junction City. A full-grown bull rhino is its main attraction. This particular rhino doesn't like being in the circus. The huge beast breaks his chains and charges off into the forest. Bill and the boys are called in to find and shoot the marauder before he hurts anyone or does any serious damage. Can our rangers safely corner this prehistoric monster? Will Stumpy's pride endanger the hunt and possibly endanger lives too?

But a real mystery develops when a reporter on the cruise winds up missing and a missing millionaire is found.

RB098 The Runaway Railroad
Henry hears stories of an antique steam train abandoned way up in the Shady Mountains. The engine belonged to the Three Rs - the Rimrock, Rawhide, and Ragweed railroad. Henry goes hiking in search of the valuable old train. Henry's tough walk is rewarded when he discovers an old engine in a shed. Two men find the train first and are determined to take the engine and sell it to a collector. They tie up Henry and fire up the train to steal it.
Will Bill discover the thieves, stop them, AND rescue Henry?

RB110 The Battle at Jenkins Manor
It's been many years since Stumpy's wife died; and he has finally decided that he doesn't have the time or energy to take care of himself and his house. Bill convinces him that he needs a housekeeper. Bill nominates Maggie Murphy for the job.
Maggie is a strong woman. She needs to be strong, a widow with four boys to care for. She acts much like a drill sergeant, which doesn't set well with Stumpy.
Stumpy is so desperate for a better home life that he hires Maggie, Stumpy's worst fears about allowing Maggie in his house are quickly realized and the battle begins!

Henry falls in love with a magnificent wild white stallion that he and his friend Pyute see on the prairie. Henry finds a way to capture the horse and keep it in a hidden location. Bill tells him that capturing a wild horse will break its spirit and kill it. Now Henry must decide if keeping his special horse is worth the cost.

RB 180 Roving Wolves aka Wolf Attack
Gunter Neeves runs a rabbit farm outside Knotty Pine. He is losing those rabbits to a pack of hungry, roving wolves. He asks Bill and his men to deal with the wolves and stop the attacks on his rabbits. When Bill doesn’t get the desired results fast enough, Gunter decides to take matters into his own hands.

Bill thinks Henry may be lacking sincerity in his prayer life. He wants Henry to speak from his heart. Bill and Stumpy share the story of Al Ferguson who wanted to help others avoid empty, repetitious prayers. A storm at a church picnic and what followed helped Al make his point.

RB177 He Broke Through the Ice aka They Killed Ranger Bill
It’s well below zero in Knotty Pine, but Henry and Freddy decide to go ice fishing anyway. Bill and Stumpy drive out to see how the boys are doing. Some other boys are playing nearby. Bill drives down the frozen river to check on those boys. His car falls into the river, and he doesn’t come out!!! Henry is bitter, and Stumpy is perplexed. Have we come to the end of Ranger Bill and these stories?

Jacq is angry with God and feels like Job. Can anything more go wrong for Jacq? Will anger and despair keep Josh in the terrible valley of depression? Can Bill do anything to bring Jacq out of that wrong valley?

Bill and Lieutenant Larson of the US Aeronautical Survey Team find Old Man Margrave tied up and half dead in his cabin in Lost Canyon. Two thugs, Hawk and Banjo Eyes, did this to the old gentleman to get his treasure hidden up in the mountain cliffs. The key to finding the treasure is a notebook hidden in the cabin. So why does Bill want a football uniform, a pilot's helmet, 100 feet of rope, and 10 pounds of beef to find the treasure? How will Bill, Henry, and Lt. Larson keep the two crooks from stealing or destroying the treasure? What is this mysterious treasure anyway? You'll have to listen to find out.

Knotty Pine’s new water tower has just been built and is ready to fill with fresh water for all the thirsty townsfolk of Knotty Pine. Then curiosity gets them into some real trouble, and they don’t know how to get out! This little escapade turns into a matter of life and death!

Stumpy runs into old friend Miles Ashby at the bank. Miles was just turned down for a loan. He needs the money so he can keep drilling for oil on his property. He thinks there is oil on his land even though no one has found oil anywhere else in the area. Folks call Miles' well "Ashby's Folly." Tully Philmore offers to buy Miles’ land and his oil drilling supplies. Stumpy wants desperately to help Miles but how?

Ken has a real problem. Neighbor Conrad just shot his daughter’s dog, Mr. Prince. Conrad fears and hates dogs after some attacked his horses. Prince is barely alive. Both Ken and daughter Julie are bitter. Is there anything Bill can do to mend fences between these angry neighbors?

Toby the SiberianTiger sneaks in for a visit with Uncle Bob Devine. The Siberian Tiger is the largest of the big cats. The Siberian tiger grows up to 12 feet long and weighs over 600 pounds. Tigers are the great hunters of Asia. Russia, India, Burma, Turkey, and other countries in Asia are the territories of the tiger. Even though the lion is king of beasts, his territories are the countries of Africa. And - lions are smaller than many tigers, especially the Siberian Tiger.

Bill doesn't have enough men for all the work around the national forest. He and his rangers have to work 18 hours a day. Bill has a solution to the problem - women volunteers in the fire towers. The rangers refuse to allow women rangers. Will the rangers work themselves to death or will they give Bill's PETTICOAT RANGERS a chance? Can female rangers do a ranger's work if they get that chance? In my opinion, this is one of the funniest Ranger Bill stories ever! You get to hear some of Stumpy's funniest and most famous lines! And you get to see a little of what life was like back in the 1950's.

8-year-old Leo Foster faints while taking a walk. Officer O’Roark sees the boy collapse and calls an ambulance. At the hospital, X-rays confirm the worst. Leo has a serious heart defect requiring major surgery. The surgery requires stopping Leo’s heart and tapping into another heart during the surgery. Leo has a rare blood type and needs someone whose blood matches his. The hunt is on for Leo’s second heart!

The Finger River flows out of the Rockies and into the Pacific. Much of the river is a mix of salt and fresh water. That mix makes hunting and fishing along the river excellent. Suddenly, fishing lines are being robbed and hunters are losing their kills to something in the river. The thief appears to be a baracuda, a killer with two rows of razor-sharp teeth and fins. Bill must find this thief and stop it - whatever it is. Can Bill locate our thief, or will terror continue on the Finger River?

The last line of today's show is quite a nifty joke: "Freddy Burns from the Sun"!!!

There's trouble on Beaver Lake. A group of young men, including Henry, are racing their power boats on the lake. Most of them are racing safely, but the boys with the fastest boat are endangering everyone else using the lake. Folks want Bill to stop the speed boating. Bill comes up with a plan to stop the dangerous boating. Then the troublemakers find a way to foil Bill's plan. Who will win this battle of wits? Will Bill be able to protect innocent vacationers on Beaver Lake?

Horace Butler holds the mortgage on Knute Hobson’s ranch. Knute doesn’t have the money to pay the note. Knute needs two extra months to pay the note. Horace gives him one weekend or he will foreclose Knute’s mortgage. Then Horace gets in trouble with Bill for not correcting safety violations on his ranch.
