- There are five RB dog stories that I can think of -
RB009 Bim

RB006 The Fire Bug
Our exciting RANGER BILL tale for Tuesday afternoon, May 19, 2026, is:
RB006 The Fire Bug or, in Bill's own words, The Iron Fire Bugs
The railroad engines in Randolph Thompson's Red Valley Freight Line are threatening to burn up all the trees in Giant Pine National Park. Many of Thompson's engines are old coal-fired steam engines. Randolph pushes the engines hard so that they belch out volumes of smoke and sparks, setting the nearby dry forest ablaze.Ranger Bill tries to get Thompson to either stop using the old coal burners or put spark arresters on their stacks. Thompson will not cooperate. What can Bill do to protect the forest and save the giant pines?
How does Bill live the Christian life in this story? Is anyone affected by Bill's actions and how?

Nature Corner/Storybook Room - Catkin Caterpillar
Nature Corner/Storybook Room for Saturday morning 5/9/26
Uncle Bob Devine gets a little visit from Clarabel the catkin caterpillar. Catkins are the long, stringy bundles of tiny blossoms that grow on birch, oak and willow trees in the spring. Clarabel and other catkin caterpillars disguise themselves like those tree blossoms to hide from preditors. These caterpillars and other animals eat catkin blossoms for food, but the blossoms help Clarabel change to look more like the catkin blossoms. In summer, Clarabel will turn brown like the branches she lives on.
Now let Clarabel finish her delightful story of God's design for catkin caterpillars.
RB109 The Man Who Lost God
Our RANGER BILL for late Saturday morning, May 9, 2026, is a strange, Old Testament style mystery:
RB109 The Man Who Lost God
Bill's rangers spot large campfires on the top of Razorback Ridge. Bill, Stumpy, and Gray Wolf go to investigate. They find what appear to be animal sacrifices like sacrifices in the Old Testament. No one is sure who is doing this and why. At the same time the wealthy Thompson family send out letters searching for their lost son. Bill has his hands full with two mysteries at once!
It appears as though RB108 The Wrong Valley and RB109 are both stories of men who have lost God, each in their own way.

RB116 The Deadly Laundry Basket

RB210 One Million Years Ago
RANGER BILL for Wednesday, 5/6/2026, should leave you guessing and scratching your head:
RB210 One Million Years Ago
This is another "new" Ranger Bill story that hasn't been aired in recent years. Enjoy!
RB208/209 The (Haunted) Church at Bent Creek
We begin our work week with a 2-part RANGER BILL adventure:
RB208/209 The (Haunted) Church at Bent Creek parts 1 and 2
Much of Bent Creek is abandoned including the general store - and the church. The reason it's abandoned is because folks there believe that the Bent Creek Church is haunted. Weird things go on at night inside the church - lights go on and off, the bell rings by itself, strange noises come from the tower, and the organ plays all by itself. Young pastor Jeff and his wife Jean are even afraid to stay at the parsonage. Bill, Stumpy and Gray Wolf have no idea what to do about the strange things that go on at the church. How will the gospel ever be preached again in Bent Creek? This is a 2-part Ranger Bill adventure. Don't miss a minute of the action and excitement!!!

Nature Corner/Storybook Room - Sea Cucumber
Nature Corner/Storybook Room for Saturday morning 5/2/26
Cliff the sea cucumber visits with Uncle Bob Devine this morning. Cliff is an animal, not a vegetable. Many sea cucumbers are long and sausage-shaped. Others are round and look like apples. They vary in size from 3 inches long to over a foot long. There are even a few that are only an eighth of an inch long. Over fifteen hundred kinds of sea cucumbers have been discovered.
Sea cucumbers serve a very needed function. They eat all of the plant and animal matter that settles to the ocean bottom. Bacteria eat what is left from the cucumbers' meals. That keeps the ocean bottom clean and safe from diseases.
Now let Cliff and Uncle Bob tell you more about sea cucumbers!
RB107 Petticoat Rangers
Our RANGER BILL for late Saturday morning, 5/2/2026, is a classic:
RB107 Petticoat Rangers
Bill doesn't have enough men for all the work around the national forest. He and his rangers have to work 18 hours a day. Bill has a solution to the problem - women volunteers in the fire towers. The rangers refuse to allow women rangers. Will the rangers work themselves to death or will they give Bill's PETTICOAT RANGERS a chance? Can female rangers do a ranger's work if they get that chance? In my opinion, this is one of the funniest Ranger Bill stories ever! You get to hear some of Stumpy's funniest and most famous lines! And you get to see a little of what life was like back in the 1950's.
