Ranger Bill's College

Young Bill Jefferson went to Brighton College. Bill goes to Brighton for his class reunion in "Arson at Brighton College" (RB-053), and he takes Henry along. Henry knows the college president's son Ronnie from playing high school football. Ronnie gets into trouble and is afraid to own up to it.

RB-095 The Abominable Snowman

Big game hunter Craig Carstares stalks the elusive Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep while a creature haunts the mountains and frightens folks in Knotty Pine. Everyone is afraid of this beast except Carstares. They think it is the Abominable Snowman. Even Bill, Stumpy, and Gray Wolf are scared when they see its tracks and hear it howling. What is this beast? Can Bill and the boys capture or kill this monster? Is Mr. Carstares safe hunting alone in the mountains?

RB-094 Rogue Elephant

Farms and towns along the edge of the Rockies are suffering the strangest damage - a corn field destroyed, a barn knocked over and a basket of apples taken. Bill is temporarily away, so Gray Wolf and Henry go to investigate the source of all the destruction. When the boys get there, they can't believe their eyes. You won't believe your ears. The question is how to get rid of this enormous problem. The key may lie with a newspaper reporter and a 20-year-old news clipping.

Knotty Pine GAZETTE - Blackfoot Mystery Jar

Historians Arrive at Ranger Headquarters
News continues to come from Ranger Headquarters at Big Pine National Forest.
Ranger Gray Wolf tells the GAZETTE that archaeologists and historians from State U arrived this week to inspect the medal, code paper, and leather book found in a jar given to Gray Wolf by Blackfoot Indian Alan Beaver.
The historians immediately identified the medal as an authentic silver Jefferson Peace Medal (See a medal at http://lewis-clark.org/content/content-article.asp?ArticleID=350). The medals were used throughout the Jefferson administration and given as token of peace and friendship. The medals were often given by explorers working for the US government to Indian chiefs. The code paper appears to be a copy of the code used by Lewis and Clark in their exploration of the Louisiana Territory. They and their Corps of Discovery were searching for a passage up the Missouri River through the Rockies to the west coast from 1804 to 1806. Careful early examination of the leather book leads the archaeologists to believe this to be an authentic journal of Meriwether Lewis written during that trip.
