Little crippled Jimmy Benson needs hope to heal his injured legs that have him trapped in a wheelchair. Bill gives him that hope when he locates a specialist who thinks he can fix Jimmy’s injury. Bill needs help from the church to pay for the operation, but a board member blocks using church funds for this.

Long lost elephant Mahmud the Mighty attacks homes and farms. Circus owner Baxter B. Bixby offers to catch this animal now gone wild. Ranger Bill isn’t convinced that Mr. Bixby is qualified to capture any animal in the mountains, let alone a crazed elephant. Bixby has a plan to capture the beast, but Bill still isn’t sure it will work.

There is no drought, but the Rio Perdido River runs dry without explanation. A young lettuce farmer and a tough old cattle rancher are both in danger of losing everything without the river. Bill and the boys investigate and try to bring the river back. Henry may have the key to the problem in a book he’s studying.

Happy 4th of July!

Ranger Bill, Henry, Stumpy, and Gray Wolf want to wish everyone a very happy and fun 4th of July!!!

Knotty Pine will have its annual 4th of July Parade this morning starting at 10 a.m. weather permitting. The parade forms at ranger headquarters goes up Main Street through the center of town. The parade ends at the Knotty Pine Cemetery on the north end of town with a short memorial for our fallen soldiers at noon. The memorial will go on rain or shine. Ranger Stumpy Jenkins will lead a 21 gun salute as part of the memorial.

Knotty Pine's 4th of July fireworks will begin this evening at 10 p.m. The show is guaranteed to light up the skies and rattle your windows! Food and glow sticks will be on sale before and during the fireworks display.
