RB011 is our RANGER BILL story for Thursday, January 25, 2024,

RB006 The Fire Bug

Our exciting RANGER BILL tale for late Saturday morning, 1/20/24, is:

RB006 The Fire Bug or, in Bill's own words, The Iron Fire Bugs

The railroad engines in Randolph Thompson's Red Valley Freight Line are threatening to burn up all the trees in Giant Pine National Park. Many of Thompson's engines are old coal-fired steam engines. Randolph pushes the engines hard so that they belch out volumes of smoke and sparks, setting the nearby dry forest ablaze.
Ranger Bill tries to get Thompson to either stop using the old coal burners or put spark arresters on their stacks. Thompson will not cooperate. What can Bill do to protect the forest and save the giant pines?
How does Bill live the Christian life in this story? Is anyone affected by Bill's actions and how?

RB229 Moose Plague

RANGER BILL for Jan. 13, 2024, is

RB229 Moose Plague

Back in July of 2020, our own Joel Harris made a delightful and unexpected discovery when he found the previously unknown RANGER BILL story "Moose Plague".

"Moose Plague" appears to be a fairly early episode in the production of RANGER BILL. It has the #1 opening used from 1950 to mid 1959.
There is four feet of snow on the ground in Bill's forest district with another foot scheduled to fall over the next few hours. Road crews with huge rotary plows are just beginning to open up the main roads in the area. Border Town is just now getting the first of those rotary plows working their streets. Just as it looks as if life will begin to return to normal, a new problem arises. Moose herds from the north country invade border town looking for anything to eat.
Some residents want to shoot the moose to drive them away. Bill tells them that shooting will only cause the situation to become even more dangerous than it already is. The town demands a solution from Bill and his rangers NOW!!!
Bill decides that the moose are extremely hungry and need to be fed. Bill calls on some cargo planes to bring in tons of hay to feed the hungry animals. Then he has the hay carefully placed to lead the moose out of town.
Recall that Border Town was the subject of another episode where Frechy DeSalle's loggers were coming there to drink and gamble every weekend.

This recording is not the best, but I hope you will still enjoy it.

RB208 and RB209 The (haunted) Church at Bent Creek

We begin our work week  with a 2-part RANGER BILL adventure:

RB208/209 The (Haunted) Church at Bent Creek parts 1 and 2

Much of Bent Creek is abandoned including the general store - and the church. The reason it's abandoned is because folks there believe that the Bent Creek Church is haunted. Weird things go on at night inside the church - lights go on and off, the bell rings by itself, strange noises come from the tower, and the organ plays all by itself. Young pastor Jeff and his wife Jean are even afraid to stay at the parsonage. Bill, Stumpy and Gray Wolf have no idea what to do about the strange things that go on at the church. How will the gospel ever be preached again in Bent Creek?

This is a 2-part Ranger Bill adventure. Don't miss a minute of the action and excitement!!!
