Henry and his boys club are putting on a Christmas pageant in the high school auditorium. It will close with a short performance by Christian recording artist Bill Pearce. There are rehearsals and many problems to iron out. Henry learns that one of the boys, Johnny, doesn't believe the Christmas story. Henry takes the time to witness to Johnny, and Johnny begins to believe. Johnny asks Henry, "If the Bible is true, why everyone doesn't believe?" Wally, a key boy in the show, is hit by a car and must stay in the hospital. How will the pageant go on with Wally in the hospital? What will happen to Johnny? And what of Bill Pearce?

Young Norman hurts his back when he falls on a rock while playing football. Surgery doesn't completely fix the damage to Norman's back. The lad is left unable walk. Norm's dad Al is afraid of anything that might make Norman's injury any worse.
Norm wants to join scouts and participate fully in all the activities. But he can't convince his dad. To advance in scouts, Norm will have to hike five miles, learn to swim, and more. Norm will need Bill's help. Will Bill be able to help Norm overcome his handicap and Al overcome his fears?

Trouble is brewing at Trappers Landing in Big North Country. Roy Westgate's trading post is busy with trappers who should be working their lines. Trappers Abe and Jeff tell of losing pelts from their trap lines.  Mac and Shorty say they followed tracks they have never seen before. Then Big Jack arrives to say he's seen wolverine tracks. The wolverine is the most feared animal in the wild. Trappers believe a wolverine killed Beaver Dan in Alaska. The news creates a panic and causes most of the trappers to quit for the year. Roy's trading post will close if the trappers quit. Roy asks Bill to help. But how can Bill fight superstition and the fear it brings?

Eight climbers on the Savage Mountains (better known as the Refrigerator Mountains) fall into a crevasse. Bill and his rangers are called in to rescue the trapped climbers. There's trouble at Goose Lake - BIG trouble. Homes and cabins along the lake are being broken into and wrecked. Angry homeowners want Ranger Bill and his boys to see the damage and find the culprit or culprits. Stumpy and Gray Wolf soon find something that they can't believe and don't want to believe. It looks like the biggest grizzly alive has come back, Old Joe. The Goose Lake residents are hopping mad and impatient. They aren't going to wait for Bill to get Old Joe. The men plan to hunt down Old Joe themselves. What is Bill going to do this time? How can he handle a mod of angry citizens and this enormous grizzly?

RB053 Arson at Brighton College

Bill and Henry take off for the weekend to visit Bill's alma mater Brighton College and enjoy the homecoming football game. Henry is going to Brighton to visit with the college president's son Ronnie Winters. Ronnie keeps getting into trouble and has difficult time owning up to his mistakes. An old building being used as a dorm catches fire and the building's janitor is severely hurt. Fire investigators suspect arson. Later, Bill and Henry spot Ronnie speeding and generally driving dangerously. Is the Brighton fire arson? Could Ronnnie be that arsonist? What can Bill and Henry do to find the fire's cause and the person responsible?

The towns of Silver Springs and Claytown are surrounded by 10 forest fires and their citizens are trapped. The southern district rangers can't fight these blazes alone. They call Bill and his men and equipment to control the fires. This is one of the biggest fires the state has ever had. And to top it off, the train bringing equipment from Knotty Pine breaks down. Can Bill help get these fires under control or will rangers and innocent citizens die?

Our rangers are driving back to Knotty Pine after a long, cold day in the forest. They are just starting to get warm in their "snowmobile" when they pass a young boy walking along an isolated stretch of road. The fellas pick up the boy, who reluctantly agrees to go to town but not home. This young man Gary has been verbally abused and beaten by his stepfather. The stepfather Jake has trouble controlling his anger and lashes out at home and at work. Bill is willing to help both Gary and Jake. But will Jake be willing or able to change his life - even with help? Jake's and Gary's lives both depend upon it!

The Shortage – John Patterson is the Forest Service accountant for the Northwest District and one of Bill’s rangers. John is a fine Christian and works hard to do a good job. RB034 – Piggyback – Dangerous winter weather and complex delivery problems threaten the survival of both Canyon City Truck Lines and the railroad. Leonard Grant, owner of CCTL, and Spence Neihoff, superintendent of the Knotty Pine railroad district, do not get along and refuse to work with one another. Bill must teach these men how to work together instead of against each other.

RB023 Dead on Arrival

Henry is a ham radio operator. One evening, his radio picks up a distress call from a trapper and his son in Cougar Canyon. The boy is seriously ill and needs immediate medical attention. But before Bill and Henry can get to the trappers’ cabin, the boy dies. Despite appearances, Bill thinks there is a chance that the boy can be revived.

RB022 Glacier Cave-In

A team of archeologists study an ancient cave that was exposed when the Big Slide Glacier moved. The glacier moves again and causes an earthquake and landslides. Bill and Henry are part of a rescue team sent to recover the scientists. One of the scientists, Dr. Swift, is trapped under a slide. Amputation of the doctor’s leg may be the only way to save his life.

One boy in the gang, Mike, is willing to stand up to the gang and tell the truth. Then Tony’s store is damaged even worse than the first time. Tony asks Bill for help to stop the violence.

Two days of hard rains plus heavy spring snow melt have combined to threaten Big Ridge Dam. The operators at the dam must open its floodgates soon or the dam will burst. Bill and his rangers have just 3 hours to warn all the farmers and ranchers in the valley below Big Ridge before the gates are opened.

 A dazed and confused man stumbles into a hobo jungle. The hobos fear the man is wanted by the law so they dump him on a freight train. The rangers find the man singing hymns in an abandoned shack. The man appears to have amnesia and might be a minister. Bill, Stumpy and Gray Wolf begin a fast-paced search for the man’s identity.

RB012 The Eviction of Ma and Pa Skunk

Texans Arnold Fleming and his family have just bought a house at Goose Lake. But there is a problem. Another family is already living in, or rather under, the Flemings’ house, a family of skunks. The Flemings don’t know what to do or who to ask for help. Luckily, neighbor Abner knows just what to do. He calls in Ranger Bill. But evicting these stinky pests may prove to be much harder than anyone could imagine.

Just outside of Knotty Pine is an extremely dangerous stretch of highway called Death’s Half Mile. Several accidents happen there every week. Bruno and Eric Allen live there and have been trying to make the road safer for years. Bill, Stumpy, and Gray Wolf try to help the Allen's stop all the death and suffering. Bill must try to convince the 3 men in charge of Death’s Half Mile to make the needed improvements.

The entire town of Big Pine is shaken and angry when a leading citizen dies in an apparent hit and run accident. Two young hot rodders involved in the accident, Rube and Smitty, fear the town’s wrath. So they run and hide and hope they are never found. Bill and Stumpy investigate the accident and intend to find both the driver and the truth behind this tragedy.

Bim was a very special dog. His owners, Otto Jorgensen and his two sons, loved him enough to build an animal hospital in his name. Bim killed a rattler threatening the Jorgensen boys. Then he helped rescue young Paul after a bad fall. Later he served his country during World War II and returned home to save Otto.

A new bridge is being built over 1200-foot-deep Dead Man’s Gorge. Tom Farris has been called in to be the construction foreman. The construction crew doesn’t want Tom as their foreman. Will Tom’s job end as quickly as it has started, or will an accident or accidents jinx the whole bridge project?

Henry and Freddy go on a hike. Freddy is not a Christian. Freddy wrestles with faith and miracles. The boys need a miracle when Freddy falls into Half Mile Gulley and breaks his leg. Flood waters from a broken dam threaten to drown both boys. It will take a miracle to save them.

RB006 The Fire Bug



The railroad engines in Randolph Thompson's Red Valley Freight Line are threatening to burn up all the trees in Giant Pine National Park. Many of Thompson's engines are old coal-fired steam engines. Randolph pushes the engines hard so that they belch out volumes of smoke and sparks, setting the nearby dry forest ablaze.
Ranger Bill tries to get Thompson to either stop using the old coal burners or put spark arresters on their stacks. Thompson will not cooperate. What can Bill do to protect the forest and save the giant pines?
How does Bill live the Christian life in this story? Is anyone affected by Bill's actions and how?

RB004 "The Hermit"

Bill and Ranger Tom are checking over the forest one last time before winter closes in. They come upon an old abandoned miner's line shack that now has an old hermit living in it. The hermit sends the boys away at the point of a gun.

Ralph, visiting from Col. Anders office, tells the fellas that the hermit is a famous brain surgeon from the east who is grieving the death of his best friend Jim who died while the doctor was operating. The doctor blames himself for his friend's death.

A climber injured in a fall on Old Baldy desperatly needs brain surgery in to live. Bill confronts the hermit/doctor asking him to save the climber's life.

Bill and the boys go deep sea fishing with old salvage man Ben Benson. Ben's son died in a diving accident during a salvage job, and Ben has never forgiven himself for it. An old navy sub gets stuck on the bottom not far from Ben's ship. Navy rescue ships can't arrive in time to save the crew. Ben can help but won't. Will 20 sailors die needlessly in 20 fathoms of the sea?
