There is no drought, but the Rio Perdido River runs dry without explanation. A young lettuce farmer and a tough old cattle rancher are both in danger of losing everything without the river. Bill and the boys investigate and try to bring the river back. Henry may have the key to the problem in a book he’s studying.

An Indian college student, the great-grandson of Sitting Bull, tries to share his Indian heritage on his college campus, but other students laugh at him. The abuse and rejection is too much for him. He loses control and decides to take revenge for everything done to him.

The Vanishing Mummy

 A truck in a convoy of archaeological artifacts breaks down just outside of Knotty Pine. The biggest truck is carrying a valuable mummy from Egypt. Bill and his rangers are in charge of guarding the mummy until the truck is repaired. Stumpy is leery of watching this “old pile of bandages”. Mr. Peabody, the convoy director, is not happy about leaving the valuable mummy in Knotty Pine.

Bill and Gray Wolf help an Indian brave, Running Fox, share Christ with his dying father, Chief White Feather, and with his tribe. He is the only Christian in his tribe. His brother Arrow Hand is opposed to any mention of Jesus around their dying father.
