Big Moose McBain is a trapper in Ranger Bill’s district. His trapping lines are being robbed, and he can’t catch the thieves. He has two young sons to feed. He can’t afford to lose so many furs. So he calls in Bill and the boys to find the thieves before he’s ruined.

Fellow RBFC administrator Joel Harris found a listing on the RadioGOLDINdex ( https://radiogoldin.library.umkc.edu/Home/Welcome?fbclid=IwAR2kMxRusOo17L8tIPe6TsW-KaCqNDay8UDEsJobNOkxpp_U33PMZhS70Kc ) for a Ranger Bill story most of us, including Joel and I, haven't heard before, called "The Moose Plague". My best guess is that it was probably first broadcast in 1957 or 1958.

Ranger Bill is worried about the situation in Bear Valley National Park. Park visitors get far too close to the bears as they feed near the park road. But new problems crop up at the park. Bears are disappearing from the park. When Bill and the boys go to investigate, they find bears sleeping along the park road. What is going on and why?

Little crippled Jimmy Benson needs hope to heal his injured legs that have him trapped in a wheelchair. Bill gives him that hope when he locates a specialist who thinks he can fix Jimmy’s injury. Bill needs help from the church to pay for the operation, but a board member blocks using church funds for this.

Long lost elephant Mahmud the Mighty attacks homes and farms. Circus owner Baxter B. Bixby offers to catch this animal now gone wild. Ranger Bill isn’t convinced that Mr. Bixby is qualified to capture any animal in the mountains, let alone a crazed elephant. Bixby has a plan to capture the beast, but Bill still isn’t sure it will work.
