A young cougar wanders into the Knotty Pine Supermarket and chases out all the customers. The boys are called in to remove this “vicious” beast from the store. Bill soon realizes this is a tame cougar. The cougar quickly becomes attached to Gray Wolf. Laugh along with the fellas as Gray Wolf tries to deal with the affectionate cat!

Henry falls in love with a magnificent wild white stallion that he and his friend Pyute see on the prairie. Henry finds a way to capture the horse and keep it in a hidden location. Bill tells him that capturing a wild horse will break its spirit and kill it. Now Henry must decide if keeping his special horse is worth the cost.

Bill and Lieutenant Larson of the US Aeronautical Survey Team find Old Man Margrave tied up and half dead in his cabin in Lost Canyon. Two thugs, Hawk and Banjo Eyes, did this the old gentleman to get his treasure hidden up in the mountain cliffs. The key to finding the treasure is a notebook hidden in the cabin. So why does Bill want a football uniform, a pilot's helmet, 100 feet of rope, and 10 pounds of beef to find the treasure? How will Bill, Henry, and Lt. Larson keep the two crooks from stealing or destroying the treasure? What is this mysterious treasure anyway? You'll have to listen to find out.

Bill saves a child who wandered into the street and is hit by the car himself. Bill is slightly injured and needs just a little rest at home. Gill Major, an insurance salesman, visits Bill to try to sell him life insurance. Bill turns the tables on Gill and tries to sell him Eternal Life Insurance. Gill is not a Christian and has no interest in eternal life insurance. But can Gill ignore insurance whose premium was paid in full 2000 years ago, provides protection after death, guarantees the insured eternal life, and the insured person is the beneficiary? Soil erosion is washing tons of black top soil into the Shady River turning its clear blue mountain waters into a muddy mess during each rain storm. Senator Baxter wants a dam on the Shady to control the river's flood waters and stop erosion. Ranger Bill has soil erosion under control in the national forest. Bill knows the same methods will work just as well for farmers and ranchers all along the Shady. Who is behind Senator Baxter's dam and assisting the senator to get the dam built? How can a government employee like Bill oppose a US senator? Will farmers be saddled with taxes to pay for a dam?

Arson at Brighton college
Bill and Henry take off for the weekend to visit Bill's alma mater Brighton College and enjoy the homecoming football game. Henry is going to Brighton to visit with the college president's son Ronnie Winters. Ronnie keeps getting into trouble and has difficult time owning up to his mistakes. An old building being used as a dorm catches fire and the building's janitor is severely hurt. Fire investigators suspect arson. Later, Bill and Henry spot Ronnie speeding and generally driving dangerously. Is the Brighton fire arson? Could Ronnnie be that arsonist? What can Bill and Henry do to find the fire's cause and the person responsible?

Bill and JoJo (filling in for Henry) take an ocean cruise to Puerto Combello so Bill can teach new forestry and conservation practices there. Their cruise is soon interrupted when Bill catches a man listening to their conversation through the cabin door. The man escapes, so Bill and the ship's detective must hunt the man down. There is also a wealthy man from the Middle East onboard, and Bill is concerned for this gentleman's safety.

Buses heading for Knotty Pine are crashing. It's not poor weather or icy roads that are causing these accidents. Bus drivers on the night route from Junction City to Knotty Pine are seeing animals, ghost animals, crossing the road in front of them causing the drivers to swerve and wreck. Gus McDougal will go out of business unless the road ghosts and the wrecks stop. Gus asks Bill and the boys to look into the problem. Are the animals real? Are the road ghosts real? And what can Bill do about ghosts anyway?

A cargo plane crash lands at Knotty Pine airport. A short time later, an airport employee is found dead inside a hanger near the plane’s cargo boxes. He has been crushed to death. Dr. Draper wants to Mel to follow in his footsteps and become a research chemist. Mel wants to be an agricultural chemist but won't buck his grandfather. Bill sees the tension building between the Drapers. Mel asks for Bill's help with his grandfather. Then Dr. Draper wants Bill to talk Mel into being a research chemist. Bill is between a rock and a diehard. What is he going to do in this situation? Can Bill make either Draper happy, or will both be mad at Bill and at each other?

RB042 Forest Fire Death Trap aka Fire in the Forest
The towns of Silver Springs and Claytown are surrounded by 10 forest fires and their citizens are trapped. The southern district rangers can't fight these blazes alone. They call Bill and his men and equipment to control the fires. This is one of the biggest fires the state has ever had. And to top it off, the train bringing equipment from Knotty Pine breaks down. Can Bill help get these fires under control or will rangers and innocent citizens die?

The rangers help the miners rescue the trapped men after hours of digging. Next Stumpy and Henry are buried alive by more explosions. They have no way of being located. Who can save our rangers from their rock tomb?

The Joe and Jack Jackson, identical twins, own the Big J Ranch. They mysteriously lose part of their cattle herd. The Jacksons suspect rustlers, but modern communications stopped rustling years ago. The boys keep losing cattle a few at a time. They finally ask Ranger Bill to check into their mystery. A mystery man, Mr. Dark, may be the key to this mystery.

John Patterson is the Forest Service accountant for the Northwest District and one of Bill’s rangers. John is a fine Christian and works hard to do a good job. But recently John has been worrying himself sick over an accounting error of thousands of dollars that he can’t find to correct. He won’t tell anyone or ask for help and a federal audit is only days away.

RB035 Henry for Mayor
It's Youth Week at Knotty Pine High, and Henry has a "Thorny" problem - Thornton Newcastle, that is. Henry is running for Youth Week mayor against young Mr. Newcastle. Thornton is the son of a big businessman and used to getting his way. Thorny is worried that Henry will win the mayor's race because of Henry's popularity at school. Henry is on the swim team and has the best grades in math. Thornton steals Henry's math notes and accuses him of cheating. Now Henry may not only lose the race but also kicked off the swim team and flunk math. Bill can't go to Henry's aid or he will interfere with the Youth Week. Henry must stand up for himself. But what can he do to defend his good name?

RB132 Avalanche Rescue
Bill and Henry are busy knocking down avalanches on the Big Six Mountains. Novice skier Jenny Bender aims to tackle those steep hills regardless of the risk. Bill closes the Big Six to any skiers until he and Henry clear all the dangerous drifts. Jenny sneaks out to go skiing before Bill opens the slopes. A huge avalanche threatens the ski lodge and the headstrong young lady.

RB034 – Piggyback – Dangerous winter weather and complex delivery problems threaten the survival of both Canyon City Truck Lines and the railroad. Leonard Grant, owner of CCTL, and Spence Neihoff, superintendent of the Knotty Pine railroad district, do not get along and refuse to work with one another. Bill must teach these men how to work together instead of against each other.

Chinook
It's winter in the Shady Mountains. At least it's supposed to be. The dreaded Chinook winds are blowing. The winds make it 50 degrees in the mountains when it ought to be 15 degrees below zero. The snow in the Shadies is melting and filling up Mid-Mountain Dam and cracking off huge chunks of glacier ice. The rising waters and the moving ice are threatening Mid-Mountain and Knotty Pine Dams. The threat to Mid-Mountain Dam grows with each passing hour of thaw. The dam operators ask Bill and the boys to do something to stop the ice. Bill calls on the one person he thinks can stop the ice boulders - Frenchy DeSalle. How can logger Frenchy help Bill stop tons and tons of speeding ice flows?
Maybe the title needs an exclamation point!

Riverboats carry freight and passengers between Knotty Pine and Mirror Lake and Kings Islands. Andy Coogan and Jim Gunderson are fierce competitors for the tourists visiting the Mirror Lake region. Bill will not give Andy a passengers license because his boat is dangerous. His stacks leak. Deck planks need to be replaced. RB130 The Mountain that Moved
Stumpy and Henry go fishing on Old Thunderhead. Strange sounds start coming from the mountain. Then a seismologist, Mr. Chenowith, arrives to investigate strange readings coming from the mountain. Earthquakes trap Henry and Stumpy and threaten their lives. Then Old Thunderhead actually begins to move, leaving huge chasms and blocking all the mountain's roads. Bill must find a way to rescue his friends before it's too late.

The state championship bobsled races are going to be held at Culver’s Peak. Top speeds are expected to exceed 60 miles per hour! Our rangers will be racing against the Cole brothers and their faster sled. Our rangers have won these races for the last three years running, but the Cole brothers could end their winning streak.

This is the story of Henry at the age of ten when his world fell apart. First, he is crippled in a fall. Then his mother develops cancer and dies. Then to add insult to injury, his dad becomes gravely ill and may die, which would leave young Henry all alone in the world.

Tim Sullivan has a long history of getting into bad business deals. When his uncle offers him a good job as logging manager, he is afraid to fail once more. Tim’s dad, Officer Mike Sullivan, asks Bill to step in and try to make Tim into a successful businessman. Bill enlists several of his rangers to help Tim. Even Frenchy DeSalle and his lumberjacks get in the act.

Danger! Deer Crossing - RB128
Bill, Stumpy, and Gray Wolf are part of a huge team of soldiers, law enforcement officers and rangers. Their job - keep anything, man or animal, out of the blast zone of an atomic bomb test. Despite their best efforts, a family of deer (and two spies) manage to slip into the test. The deer are exposed to the blast and must be found! But will they and those spies be able to elude capture? Gray Wolf may hold the key to a safe and successful end to this test.

RB022 Glacier Cave-In
A team of archeologists study an ancient cave that was exposed when the Big Slide Glacier moved. The glacier moves again and causes an earthquake and landslides. Bill and Henry are part of a rescue team sent to recover the scientists. One of the scientists, Dr. Swift, is trapped under a slide. Amputation of the doctor’s leg may be the only way to save his life.

Two days of hard rains plus heavy spring snow melt have combined to threaten Big Ridge Dam. The operators at the dam must open its floodgates soon or the dam will burst. Bill and his rangers have just 3 hours to warn all the farmers and ranchers in the valley below Big Ridge before the gates are opened.

Bill, Stumpy and Gray Wolf begin a fast-paced search for the man’s identity.

Texans Arnold Fleming and his family have just bought a house at Goose Lake. But there is a problem. Another family is already living in, or rather under, the Flemings’ house, a family of skunks. The Flemings don’t know what to do or who to ask for help. Luckily, neighbor Abner knows just what to do. He calls in Ranger Bill. But evicting these stinky pests may prove to be much harder than anyone could imagine.

RB124 Soup Truck
A truck carrying nitroglycerin blows up just outside the town of Landslide. The mayor closes Landslide to all dangerous truck traffic. Closing Landslide will put the explosives company out of business and hurt many other businesses. Bill must find a way to prove to the mayor that even nitro can be taken safely through Landslide.
